Bob Lee Interview

I contacted Bob Lee and asked him several questions about his experiences in baseball.  Mr. Lee was nice enough to answer and return my interview.  I have also included his MLB stats and a photo gallery.

Q: Mr. Lee, do you have any childhood memories of Ottumwa?

A: I left Iowa for California at age two, but made a lot of trips back.

Q: What was it like to make your major league debut?

A: A big feeling of accomplishment. (It) took some hard work, in those days there were 52 minor leagues in the country.

Q: How did you feel when you were selected as an All Star in 1965 with the Angels?

A: Very gratified, it showed MLB was finally paying a little respect for the closer.

Q: How do you feel about being one of the first people born in Ottumwa to pitch in the majors?

A:That also was somewhat of a surprise. My best to you and yours my friend. Take care.
